"The left hand side and both center columns fit recessed in tightly behind the frame lips at the top, bottom and left side while the right side slides straight in flush with the frame. I cut four pieces at 2.5" which fit behind the right side of the column flush with edge. Next cut the panels as the rest it fit in the right, top & bottom recesses and flush in tight beside the smaller 2.5" piece. I'd start at a slight angle inserting the top left edge first and as much as possible then bending or cupping the panel insert the bottom left edge while straightening it out. Bend the top in followed by the bottom until you finally fit the right side edge in. I cut the first 3 columns at 45 13/16th inches (instead of just cutting at 3/4") and the right edge fits in snugly against the frame."

But there is very little good information on the installation method for foil with regard to an air gap, adhesive choices, need for air tight seals, etc. So I abandoned the foil method and went with the Owens Corning kit. I rolled the excess to give it some resistance and I installed a retention disk pin close to the edge that had no flange (see photo). I timed the installation and it took 1 hour per box, almost to the minute. If you need longer and are concerned about splicing two pieces, try to splice big pieces as little ones may fall out easier."
"Initially, I purchased and installed Reach Barrier 3009 kits on each of the garage doors. While this took the edge off of the max garage temps (peaks around 85F, when it's 105F outside), I figured there was still quite a bit of improvement to be had. This packaging method is less than ideal because it leaves wrinkles and some delamination on some of the edges of the vinyl. Fortunately, that wasn't a big deal because I managed to trim most of the imperfections off when cutting the panels to size. Find Best Price at Amazon"Some folks seem to understand the point of my review (i.e., this opener has a motor that is much smaller than advertised), while a lot of folks have tried to defend Chamberlain's horsepower rating (which I still say is false). At the same time, nothing prevents Chamberlain from providing an HONEST and ACCURATE measure of the size or horsepower of the motor used in this opener. THAT is my complaint with this opener -- Chamberlain falsely advertises that this thing has a motor which is "similar" to 1.25 horsepower. At the end of the day, if this thing opened my door quickly and quietly, I would not care anything about the HP rating of the motor. But this unit is not (at least in my view) either quick or quiet, and it certainly does not have a motor that's "similar" to 1.25 or 1 1/4 horsepower. These units were very quiet (almost silent -- seriously), but a few months ago one of the units stopped responding to the remote unless you were within a few feet of the door. If I went out of town and wasn't sure if I had left the door open, it's nice to know that I could check my phone, see if the door was open or closed, and then close it if necessary. -- Motor units look clean/modern. If you're in the market for a garage door opener, you will quickly realize that cheaper units have smaller motors (typically 1/2 horsepower) while the more expensive units have 1 HP+. So, the unit actually has a very small motor, but because it's turning a reduction gear, it's able to lift a fair amount of weight....perhaps similar to what an actual 1.25 HP motor could lift without reduction gears. As noted above, I have two garage doors, and after I installed the new Chamberlain unit on one door, I checked its open/closing speed against the old Liftmaster unit. The Chamberlain unit didn't seem to struggle or anything....it was just very, very, very slow at lifting the door. Not a huge complaint, but my old Liftmaster units had solid metal (one piece) tracks running from the door header to the motor, whereas the Chamberlain track comes in 4-5 fairly short sections that are fit together into one long track. The LCD sceens on the wall units made this an irresistible tech buy for me, but seeing how slow the doors open, I question whether I would have been better off with something else. My dad has the older Genie Excelerator opener which whizzes his door up at super-fast speeds....that's what I was hoping for with the Chamberlain units, but sadly, I didn't get it."

I mean, seriously, I'm not Batman, and I am not trying to quickly zip into my Batcave and close the garage door before any neighbors see me in my spandex Batsuit, or my black on black 1995 Nissan Maxima. If you are anti-social, and want to avoid talking to your neighbors at all costs, maybe this garage door is not for you. As for my main reasons for purchasing this garage door opener, it was for the wifi capability, with the built in myQ router, meaning all I had to do was connect it to my wireless and I was then able to use the app to see if the garage door was open or close, or even remotely open or close it. By having the keypad mounted beside the garage door, she is able to get into the house through the garage without having to carry her garage door opener in her purse. She hated pulling into a dark garage, and as such we had mounted LED night lights around the garage to illuminate any potential tripping hazards."
