"The only way to get TRUE stereo sound out of a Model 1 Genesis is to use the headphone jack on the front of the unit, and a 3.5mm to dual red/white composite adapter cable. At that point, you'd only be using this cable for the video, which is fine, because the video quality of this composite cable is significantly better in most cases than an RF adapter."

Other than that it does the job and is more low profile than the included nes adapter with the rdp which makes it not look totally stupid when you play it."
"The first one I picked up had a ground hum in the audio, and the second was damaged, or at least compromised in shipping (cart slot cracked on insertion). I only have a handful of Genesis/Megadrive games at the moment, and I picked this up on a whim as an in between while waiting for a real Mega Drive. Zero Wing, Castlevania Bloodlines, Golden Axe 3, Splatterhouse 2, Cyborg Justice, TMNT Hyperstone Heist, Alien Soldier, and Thunder Force 3 all play fine. It's a convenient way to not have to rotate a console on the playing shelf if I am feeling lazy. Also, being able to play a number of arcade beat em ups with the SNES controller with Y as attack, and B as jump (and A usually being special) works surprisingly well."
