Find Best Price at Amazon"This is a really solid mainstream metal entry and it is VERY accessible to the casual listener. Rick Rubin did a great job producing this one, and his track record is impressive - Chili Peppers, Slayer, Metallica, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Danzig, the list goes on...So, people say the band sold out/ softened up, etc. It starts with some kind of "opener", then moves into the next track which usually rips your head right off, in this case it's "The Blister Exists", which sounds awesome. The two singles, "Duality" and "Before I Forget", are very approachable with "Before I Forget" securing the band their first Grammy win in 2006."

Maybe because we're strange too.Dead Sleep - maybe the best song on the cd after living with ghosts. Says it's really the first song to ever describe that spent feeling you get when someone drains the life out of you. Great song to get you feeling strong during the tough times.Paper Dolls - Also could be a single. Mostly we hope everyone reading this will buy it so JCS can get out here on a tour but we can't see how anyone couldn't like most of ths cd."
"Favorite songs are the soaring Living With Ghosts, the ROCKIN Dead Sleep and Strange and then there's Ghettoverit which is so funny (if you get the joke) that it reminds me of something Adam Sandler would do if he were a real musician.Also really cool is hearing how the boys work with songs co-written by the likes of Aaron Lewis from Staind (big surprise for me there, I liked it) and the guy from Marcy PLayground (Paper Dolls is another GREAT song on this disc).I can't see how anyone could be disappointed by this CD. My older brother just ordered a copy to take to school with him after he was listening to mine and he is a super music snob so if he likes it you'll like it too.These days I feel lucky if a cd has 2 good songs on it."
"BYOS is a solid listen straight through w/o a bad song and alot more mellow than their other ones (reminds me of stuff by Pepper, Slightly Stupid, Stranger etc even though its unique). PTSE is more rock w/ some funk bass and stuff, good cd but their sound is less developed."

Find Best Price at Amazon"I was one of many who wrote a scathing review of Illud on Amazon back when it came out. I stand by each and every word of that review years later. I’ve been a fan since Altars came out way back when and after an eight year wait Illud was like a kick to the head it was so bad. Well, Trey gave Vincent, Destructhor and Tim the boot. It’s got the speed, the riffs and a great lead at the end. but it’s still a straight ahead blast off to what is a great album. This song has been universally praised by just about every website and I don’t understand why. One of the longer songs but it has a ton of twists and turns that held my attention. Sludgy with insanely fast double bass. Tucker’s an accomplished bassist so it’s nice to hear more of him in this song. The Earth was supposed to sound like originally lol. Declaring New Law. The song starts out monstrous but sort of fizzles. The Fall of Idols. Tucker is on FIRE on this song. In this day and age where every underground recording has crystal clear production, Kingdom’s Disdained is VERY old school sounding. It sounds muddy but once I played around with the settings on my phone (Hint, ease up on the drums a little) it sounds awesome now. It’s raw, dirty and clear if that makes any sense. I had it turned all the way up to max on my headphones and it’s still not as painfully loud as most modern releases. Scotty on drums……finding a replacement for Pete was not easy but he’s got the power, the technique and most importantly the swing and groove Pete had. Steve….a lot of people side with Vincent since he was on the bands classic albums. Hopefully we won’t have to wait ten years for the “L” album. (Favorite Songs). Piles Of Little Arms. D.E.A.D. Righteous Voice. For No Master. Fall of Idols. Songs I didn’t care for but still aren’t bad. Kingdom’s Disdained, Raw, brutal, brilliant and a true return to form from the masters themselves."
