"Ok, so I just ran to the door and quickly unwrapped this because I was ecstatic about its potential to keep me from flipping dust up everywhere when sweeping as well as keeping me from my frantic search for the dust pan everything time I swept. I first started in the kitchen with this thing and it picked up everything it came encounter with- cheerios, dried cheese, lettuce (we had just got done feeding my toddler, fyi)."
"It never stopped working it just got so ugly I couldn't stand it anymore!"
"This sweeper works very well on low pile carpets, throw rugs, wood floors and uneven slate floors."
"I got this after doing a lot of research on these manual sweepers, and I no longer have to drag the electric around."
"Received it today, 10/9/13, and was very pleased to find that the handle is now sturdy and SCREWS TOGETHER nicely--no hammering, taping or glueing! My wife and I are taller than average and the 44-inch long handle is just fine. Another thoughtful touch is that the handle mount has a detent to hold the handle in the upright position so it can stand up and let you walk away; the handle stays up and doesn't flop down."
"For deep clean now I have to turn on my generator and use the vacuum but on other days this does a great job."
"This carpet and floor sweeper reminded me of a cheap model my husband purchased years ago that I returned."
"And you have to go over an area multiple times for it to pick up much of anything."

"The Bissell name instantly caught my eye and the fact that it is rechargeable basically sold me on this vacuum. Easy to clean - the canister pops off with minimal pressure - all the dirt is caught inside until you are ready to dump it out (see the picture)."
"It picks up dirt, dog and cat hair, pieces of mud brought in on shoes, leaves or small sticks drug into the house, threads from clothing, buttons, it has picked up paper clips, small rocks, even a screw that fell on the floor. It's easy to clean...just dump the tray and snap back in."
"Bought 3 different brands for condo (800sq ft) this is the only one worth having, not loud works well with carpet and title floor."
"It makes it easier on my back and knees."
"This item is the "new": version of the same Bissell product that I purchased previously."
"I purchased this for my kids to use after making breakfast and making their lunches."
"I was pleasantly surprised by how well it picks up pieces off the floor. The plastic piece that holds stuff picked up is easily removed to dump."
"Already had 3 swifter vacs break in the last 2 years and I only use it to keep the hard wood floors clean in my bedroom. I also haven't noticed any scratches on the wood floors due to using the vacuum."

"People are knocking it for poor battery performance and lack of suction, however, keep in mind, this does not replace a full size vacuum. As for battery performance - I've used it 3-4 times before I decided to charge it; not because it died or loses power, but just personal preference, and that is not an inconvenience at all. People also complain about the corner brushes not on the newer model, however, this has not prohibited me from sucking things up that were nearly touching the baseboards - anything tighter, you would need an actual broom/pan. In all, keep in mind what people are rating this low for and what they're using it for - for me, it was to clean up the food left over (mostly) in the kitchen and has been a great addition."
"My husband and I purchased one of these Shark Cordless Carpet Sweepers and couple of years ago. I have a bigger vacuum I use weekly and I have cleaning ladies come in every couple of weeks to do the heavy cleaning and wanted to use the Shark regularly around the cat's litter box, the kitchen and a quick run over the carpeting especially fuzz and things that tend to show on a light carpet. I reading some of the reviews, I realized that others have had the same problem with that particular sweeper, so I decided to go back with the Shark. some said it only picked up going forward and when you pulled it back, it put what you had just swept up back on the floor. It picks up well both on my hardwood kitchen floor, my tile bathroom floor and carpeting through the rest of the place. Also several reviewers complained about the suction, but since this is a carpet SWEEPER and not a VACUUM I don't believe that it has suction so to speak of . My daughter and her fiancé bought me a Eureka vacuum for the carpeting (the Shark vacuum with the motor up by the top of the handle is a real back killer and the collection cup is too small and you have to take it apart into five pieces just to get to the cup and one of the filters is cardboard so it is going to be sold the vacuum that is not this sweeper), so I don't need to use this sweeper too often for the carpeting now."
"This sweeper really picks up a lot of dirt on my wooden floors and carpet."
"Works perfectly for my small apartment."
"I use this everyday and works great."
"It's light weight and easy to use."
"I like the carpet sweeper however it was listed as used very good condition."
"DISAPPOINTED...TAKES SOOO LONG TO RECHARGE BATTERY."

Best Household Brooms

FURemover Broom with Squeegee made from Natural Rubber, Multi-Surface and Pet Hair Removal, Telescoping Handle that Extends from 3 ft to 6 ft
The patented, multi-purpose FURemover rubber broom can be used indoors or outdoors to clean practically any surface including hardwood floors, tile, carpet, rugs, concrete, and upholstery. The durably designed, telescoping handle extends to 60 inches and makes it easy to clean windows, cars, and boats without the hassle of climbing on a ladder or step stool. Patented design makes cleaning up pet hair easy and fast.
Reviews
"We were tired of hair everywhere and somehow I realized that dragging my shoe across the carpet balled the hair up. The backside is more like a squeegee and helps pull the hair up in long rolls and keeps the hair in one big pile."
"I also was very afraid to buy a whole new vacuum and spend hundreds of dollars on something that might just clog up and break when faced with all the hair we had here. I chose this broom because it is marketed specifically as a fur remover and because of the positive reviews describing it, so I'm here to add one more. I was very, very skeptical that the solution to my pet hair problem was something as ludicrous as squeegeeing my carpet, but the results are undeniable. If you are not fully able-bodied, or just aren't looking to work that hard to save the money, a powerful vacuum cleaner may still be your wisest choice. Personally, I plan to purchase a small 20 dollar shop-vac as a companion to this broom, especially because right now I have to just pick up the wads of hair with my hands. This should highlight the improvement in hair (And even some other debris) removal, as well as how the bristles where able to easily fluff back up a section of carpet that had been pressed down over many months by a heavy metal power strip."
"I own a boarding kennel and this is the only broom I use."
"Pros: extends to a little over 5ft, retracts to about 3ft, length of brush is easy to control(not too long), has two sides (brush for carpet, squeegee side for flat surfaces), worth $18. Cons: needs elbow grease ;), brush head occasionally needs to be tightened (depends on how I use it)."
"They all get swept at least a couple of times a day to keep up with the fur & mud from the dog and crumbs from the kid and cooking. It quickly proved to be more work to sweep it - than it is to lug down the vacuum that is stored on a different floor of my home."
"We used to use a combination stick vacuum and regular broom on our hardwood floors, but that means we have to go around twice, and the regular broom's bristles still got full of hair, and even after vacuuming and sweeping, the floor felt dirty. All the dust and hair quickly go into a pile, nothing sticks to the rubber broom's bristles, and the job is done in half the time."

"It should be noted for other buyers that when the instructions tell you to do a full charge and discharge 2-3 times when you first get it to make the battery last the longest, that you shouldn't just let the Roomba go back to it's base. I've seen other reviews on other replacement Roomba batteries where I think the buyer assumed that when it returned to the base that it was empty and let it charge again... that is not the case and doing it that way will cause issues for the battery for the rest of it's life."
"This battery seems to last a lot longer than the original, but I have no empirical data for that."
"This replacement battery made my "Rosie" run like new!"
"Along with managing the charging, for the first several runs when Roomba would return to dock after about an hour, I would turn it off then back on and hit clean (in other words, don't let it dock). And even after that, I think because the Roomba programmers didn't account for using batteries of other capacitance, if you want Roomba to clean longer, then turn it off and back on."
"Battery was easy to replace and has restored my Roomba to full running capacity."
"Battery works well."
"I’m adding a bit here to say that the company did send me a replacement, but in the interim my Roomba went down completely and hasn’t been fixed yet."
"Update: battery loosing charge again doesn’t seem to last long and this isn’t even with daily use, more like weekly use, not impressed. Update: they were very nice and sent me a replacement battery working well so far. I just purchased this on May 4 and now it's already loosing its charge."

"When you go over it again with the cleaning solution, the damp fibers will be naturally "thirsty" and will wick the detergent deep into the carpet where you really need it. It's the same principle that a watercolor artist uses when pulling excess paint into a slightly damp "thirsty brush.""
"CLEANING DETERGENT: Carpet Miracle by Sunny & Honey - This carpet cleaning solution is far superior to Hoover's (works better and smells great). Carpet Miracle - Carpet Cleaner Solution: Hoover, Bissell, Rug Doctor, Kenmore, Carpet Express. BEST CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: STEP 1. Vacuum the entire area you plan to clean. The cleaning solution works much better with a damp carpet. In the attached photo, I cleaned carpet that was never cleaned since it was installed almost 10 years ago, in 2006."
"This turbine has cheap parts and it starts rusting as soon as it comes in touch with water, which could happen right after the first wash. This issue has been widely reported in Hoover's other models as well, and yet Hoover's clueless Engineering team is unable to change the design or the parts and keeps on using non-stainless steel and cheap parts which seize to operate, right after they come in contact with water and rust. Check the following link on Amazon Q&A where a user has asked a question after his or her machine stopped working: https://www.amazon.com/Brushes-not-spinning-something-internally/forum/Fx23UOVL4I8KXTK/Tx26GM4WHEYHZHV/1?asin=B00009R66F. When I experienced this issue as I was getting ready to use the machine, I did an online search and numerous videos on how to fix the Hoover carpet cleaner's turbine mechanism. I had contacted the Hoover Support via email but they refused to send the affected part and instead referred to me to their authorized service center. I tried to reason with them that it's waste of time for me drive about 11 mi to take the machine for a problem which I have already diagnosed. The service center folks were very receptive and told me that this is a common problem but good for their business."

Reviews
"However,I felt compelled to review this one because when I was deciding to purchase or not, I didn't see my particular concern listed, which was: can or will it effectively clean our 10-year old grout? I have always been frustrated with how awful our grout looks, through 3children now grown and two labs and 2 cats, plus a husband with forever muddy, dirty work boots. Steam is great - heats up super quick and if general cleaning can cover most of my 800 sf of flooring in the about 20 min that the tank lasts (which was a concern because it used to take a good hour with a reg mop!). Granted I used the little scrubber brush on the back of the unit (which I do wish were a little longer), but I carefully pressed on it with my foot so it would "scrub" and reach down in the gap, and in two min time it went from black to nearly new clean. It took me some practice but so far have still found it the preferred way to go - though perhaps a scrubbie by hand could work as well if you really wanted to go that route (or had kids in need of "making amends"). This is in part due to the high steam level combined with the mop head getting saturated and no longer able to absorb the water or dirt. Again this isn't a defect simply a matter of practicality and really only an issue if you become obsessed as I did once you see the dramatic difference you can achieve with this thing! If you leave the steamer on a spot for too long, at least with my porcelain floor, the flooring retains that heat for some time and can burn your feet if you're not wearing shoes (just a matter of prob 5-10 min but again, yes it gets that hot!). Not a big deal, but surprised my feet when I happened to step on them - not a big deal for adults, but if you have crawling or walking toddlers maybe good to know (however on the plus, they now can literally eat off the floor without concern due to the sanitizing properties). While it fits beside toilets and gets in small spaces, getting the grout right up next to cabinets or walls, etc will prob require some old fashioned getting on ground and using some "Goo Gone" cleaner and scrubbing. The time lapse was approx 2min using highest steam and a little foot pressure on the scrubbie."
"I bought this steam mop to replace my shark steam mop. Heres some of the things I like and dont like about the mop: Pros: -The water tank is removable, so you dont have to put the whole mop on a table when it comes time to refil."
"Which means I don't earn much... but all the chores of a house husband. But you have to mop the porcelain floors or you can't invite guests over. I used one of those sponge mops (which you can pull back into itself to ring out the dirty water). Which means when you go to put the one screw in it mysteriously won't work. I'm not the handyman type but I know 'engineers' can paint on a little red line on the handle and unit and tell us to make them 'match' each other to avoid this mistake. On my tile floor in the kitchen and major walkways, scrubby mop/heavy steam was needed. If Bissell wanted to be the bestest -- they'd include an additional set of mop heads for the same price. Under the cabinets in my kitchen is that part of floor the normal mop could barely clean. Grime would slowly build up and the only way to fix that was paper towels, spray, and hands & knees. (This is what made me first consider taking the Bissell out for dinner and a movie.). You don't need Simple Green and Pine Sol. And that old school mopping used to make me so tired I refused to clean the upstairs linoleum bathroom... which is only a few feet wide. Sure I wish she was a cheaper date, but hey, she sure can make me steamy.). I had six or so years of it building up slowly, despite my Simple Green mopping and Bissell steaming. I basically forget my floor was matte finished, and you could clearly see a grimy 'shine'. And so my question will become IS the Bissell enough to stave off this 'gunk' that builds up -- and how long before I'm forced to scrub hands and knees style. If I can go a full year without needing to scrub so hard, I'll be satisfied but not delighted. If the Bissell prevents me from ever having to scrub the floor again, I'll be Michael Jackson Thrilled."

Reviews
"I year ago I hired a popular floor cleaning company to professionally clean the tile and grout on my kitchen floor. I purchased the all-purpose cleaning kit that comes with all the brushes, the terry bonnet, and thevtile/carpet/wood cleaners. I cleaned all of the tile floors - 3 bathrooms and the kitchen floor. The Kitchen floor looked the same as after the professional tile and grout cleaning I had done last year. But once you turn it on, it practically skates on top of the floor being cleaned and is very easy to maneuver and balanced."
"After 8 years of quite a few house parties and two dogs our floors completely lost their shine and were always dirty looking. I also purchased the "natural stone kit" which included the correct brush, a cleaner, and a white terry cloth pad. Then went back over with a clean mop to get off the film and buffed dried with the terry cloth pad. I did some research, watched a couple of YouTube videos, and decided I was going to restore my own floors with diamond pads. Flooring companies will not tell you to buy this equipment because they want you to call them back after two years so they can do the work of honing, restoring, and resealing for an ENORMOUS price. As soon as I am done with the travertine in the rest of the rooms, I am going to start investing in pads for the wood floors in my bedroom."
"I used this orbiter when I had to clean and refresh the hardwood floors in my new home."
"The cons: there is only a 1 year warranty on this unit, where the residential unit has a 5 year warranty on the motor."
"Great Deal for a quality product on Amazon."
"Jury is still out ."
"It didn't come with any accessories, but it is a great machine."

"That goes down to 25 with the motorized tool, and down to 7 minutes on “max mode.” The canister can also hold a good amount of dirt, and has a new mechanism that scrapes the sides of the bin when being emptied. The new soft roller cleaner head works well for hardwood floors, but on corners, I find myself having to go back with the crevice tool to finish the job. I use the direct drive cleaner head for low pile carpets, but the mini motorized tool works better for shag rugs (and car floor mats/upholstery)."
"Got mine yesterday, charged it, vacuumed my downstairs with it this morning. By the time I was finished, the skin on the knuckle at the base of my thumb was worn off from being rubbed on the handle above the switch where there is a little plastic "seam"."
"I was familiar with the V6 so I kept waiting for the battery to exhaust it's charge but it kept going. We have a long haired German Shepard and had to empty the V8 three times."
"I find it hard to believe that a company that spends a great deal of time marketing the design excellence of its product would fail so wholly at something so basic as phone customer service and parts replacement. In November I began the process of trying to replace the part thinking a simple call would take care of things, but was stymied on a few occasions by hold times above 30 minutes, and it wasn’t until December 17 when I finally had the time to 'wait it out' and speak to a representative. After he apparently pulled a demo unit out to see what I was talking about (I offered to email photos) and tried to convince me that the crimp obstructing nearly 50% of the hose diameter was part of the design, he created an order for a part and informed me that in 5-8 business days my problem would be solved. After more than 50 minutes, I reached a representative who then had to place me on a further hold to tell me that parts were not available for the vacuum since it was so new, and that in order to replace the part, I would have to replace the entire vacuum. I was told without any humor that replacing the part cannot be completed without my FIRST going to a UPS store with the vacuum and its attachments, receiving a tracking number, and then CALLING customer service back. Even glacially slow-to-adopt USPS allows callers to opt out of physical hold times and receive a phone call back in the order they were received."
