"I use these style pumps on a solar water system for my house, both a shurflo 3+gpm 12v and 120v to be redundant ... they work great, are automatic, and a single pump produces good pressure for the house ... the proper way to plumb them imo is with the shurflo pump silencing kit, its a hose kit with 1/2" stub connectors you can thread right into your pvc plumbing .. and i use the shurflo strainer to although my water is clear it eliminates the possibility of dirt messing something up internally ... you wont wear them out anytime soon in regular house or rv use, theyre reliable .. high water demand apps where they run constantly will probably shorten their life from getting hot .. you wont need an accumulator tank either unless you have a drippy system, drippy faucets ect will make them cycle ... all that said theyre good pumps, i struck a star because the unit i received was obviously a return, the ends of the wires were twisted and frayed and the mounting plate was slightly bent .. i paid for a NEW pump not something somebody monkied with, but it works fine ..."
