I was plunging into some 2" 6061 at medium pressure when the lower part of the tool that holds the carbide insert snapped off. Machine didn't blink and it took me a minute to figure out what the noise was because I didn't think whatsoever that it was the tool breaking. You have to have an absolutely rigid setup for parting and my thought is the chip started to chatter and vibrate and quickly got loose and caused failure."

All the machining seems pretty decent, but the "wedge" mechanism isn't very smooth...have to cam over the release and come back to get the tool holder off. The cut off tool did not come with a blade, but that may have been taken when someone robbed the adjustment nuts and set screws."
