Find Best Price at Amazon"Brief background: I am a physician living in a very polluted city, study the effects of industrial and traffic related air pollution since 1995, test different air purifiers, filters and air quality monitors, have PURCHASED most of my equipment from Amazon and publish some webpages about air pollution. I rated it as an Air Quality Monitor, not as an Environment Monitor, but it could work for both. It does not work as an Environment Monitor yet (it should) because the humidity data is not consistent with AQI and another humidity sensor, taking into account that AQI is outdoors and Awair is indoors . It takes into account humidity that comes with up to 17.3% error, CO2 that works well, VOCs with no units and PM that works well but you cannot compute a VOCs relative index with quantity values. If you change your wifi network, you must reset awair twice and must use bluetooth to find your awair again. 69 and 96 are not the same when talking about math ;). As AQI reports do not include VOCs, awair will help you TONS because they can represent important risks for your health and contrary to PM, they are very difficult to control; closing windows is not enough and most air purifiers are almost useless for VOCs. Anyway, if you take that into account, you can use them for your needs. As a whole, the awair is the best home air quality monitor, much more useful than air purifiers sensors, even more sensitive than the Winix 9500's VOCs sensor. OK, let's see: General reaction: there is a lag, sometimes 1 or 2 minutes. sensors: Dust (PM10) overreacts compared with my Dylos Pro. VOCs: excellent sensitivity. CO2: excellent sensitivity. Humidity: displays wrong values half of the time. Temperature: not very accurate. This is a great advantage to keep an eye on air quality for your kids'. rooms, shops, theaters, etc., You can also create a small air quality network for your home, business, city, country, etc Awair is not a scientific instrument, but certainly is very useful, reliable and easy to use. Awair Card: Their tips to improve air quality are superb. It does not really matter if you want to monitor air quality and for this purpose Awair is excellent. The red/green LED is functional but I still miss a yellow intermediate LED. I am also using another very interesting and portable device that you might consider, too: Air Mentor that looks beautiful, girls love it but it is completely different from awair's. Awair slogan “Get to know your air”is completely valid. Update: 2016/10/02. Awair now displays ppb for VOCs which is very useful to verify your air purifiers for VOCs. Awair is not a portable device but it is relatively easy to locate it over the air purifiers clean air outlets and check results. As you might have read, I am also using Air Mentor that is portable, am comparing both and prefer Awair. With Awair you can easily get an idea of what is wrong with your air. I recommend you have both, several awairs if you can afford them and one Air Mentor for portability. If you cannot afford both, go for Awair; otherwise you might end up blaming Air Mentor that is also a good device."

You will talk to a REAL PERSON, someone whos knowledgeable and helpful,and certainly not an automated system.It is recommended BUT not mandatory that after the unit displays (EOL) that the unit be shipped back to the manufacture for installation of a new sensor and re-calibration, although the unit will continue working after (EOL) is displayed the measurements will not be as accurate. It functions wonderfully as a distance thermometer, shining a tiny red dot on what I'm measuring and, based on comparison with a thermoscan camera at work, is pretty accurate across a range of temperatures from 0°F up to about 400°F. The button that turns on the device has a very soft click, barely perceptible, so it won't distract your faithful (or in the case of cats) persistent companions. *Probably won't reliably measure the temperature of flames at a safe enough distance, so don't get too close to fire."
"Etekcity Line of Lasergrip IR Themometers ( 1022D, 800, & 630) compared to Klein IR1000. I am not a Professional HVAC or auto mechanic but I do a lot of work myself on my home and vehicles.. An IR thermometer has many uses. I bought this as a homeowner to verify hot/cold spots around my home. I decided I would go with Etekcity Line IR thermometer based on Amazon Best seller Etekcity 774 (best seller most reviewed and priced very affordable at $16.88). After researching other Etekcity models I found many different options that offered different ranges, features, and spot/distance ratios up to 16:1 with 12:1 being the higher standard and what most higher end brands have.. spot/distance ratios range from 8:1 to 16:1 in this class of IR tool. I submitted a question to them through Amazon and Etekcity responded within the same day offering to call me , as I had a lot of questions..I was able to immediately open a chat conversation with Etekcity customer reps and they were VERY helpful in explaining to me the advantages / differences in all of their IR thermometers. After a disappointing test of the Etekcity 1022D I read reviews and decided to look at the 800, It features better accuracy at range with a 16:1 distance spot ration. *** Etekcity 630 Dual Lasergrip - $29.99 Etekcity Lasergrip 630 Dual Laser Non-contact Digital Infrared Thermometer, Gray and Black. First impression was how it was packaged in a nice solid cardboard box ( unlike the plastic blister packs of the others including the Klein. The most features, options and in my tests most accurate ( accuracy is negligible between 800 & 630 both are well with in the +/- .5 to 2.0 tolerance). Features: Dual laser for better accuracy. 16:1 Distance to Spot Ratio. Emissivity: ADJUSTABLE. Range: -58℉~1076℉. Multi function menu options ( MAX/Min temp setting, AVG and Diff/ TD). I chose the 630 over the 800 mainly due to the extra menu options ( AVG, MAX, MIn , Diff) adjustable emissivity ,and dual laser aside form that the 800 & 630 perform identically. the 1022D and 774 are priced well at under $20.00 but for more features and higher specs I think one will not go wrong with the Etekcity 800 or Feature rich Etekcity 630."
