This is so that before fixing them to the existing network, you can remove them, apply a little pipe dope sealant on the tapered threads , and affix the threaded part to the existing gas network (no pipe dope necessary on the swivel nut or threads), ….then reconnect the pipe and secure tight the swivel nut. Running gas lines to remote areas in the yard (BBQ -Jacuzzi - FIRE PIT).
