By the time I'm at my front door, the key is out and ready. Some things to note before you buy. - Car keys with plastic bases (such as those which have transponders in them) will not work in the KeySmart and have to be connected to the top with a key ring. - My wife's Hyundai key does not have a transponder but is long. - With my car key connected via key ring, there are some scuffs and dings where the ring rubs on the KeySmart. One thing to watch out for that might be the culprit- upon assembly it does seem like it could be easy to cross-thread the screw."
