The unloader equipped on this switch is used to unload the air pressure off the head of the compressor when the compressor shuts off, this way when it starts there is no pressure on the piston and the compressor is able to start load free. I would prefer brass or steel hose fittings rather than the aluminum one's, which are cheaper to make, no doubt. I recommend taking ten minutes prior to installing the hose reel, adjust the spring tension, and you'll be a lot happier with the product."
