I hope to help in the choice of economical "Full-size" multitools, as Leatherman calls a number of models. The "full size" line of tools are all about 100mm long when folded, and include the Charge TTi, the New Wave, the Rebar, and the Wingman. If your most common use of the tool will be for cutting with the knife blade(s), then the Wingman would be more convenient. If you want a multitool small enough to carry in your pocket, one that you will keep in your desk or kitchen junk drawer, if you will mostly use the knife, and find a scissor handy, I'd recommend the Wingman. If, however, you want a more fully competent multitool, that can compare well with the much more expensive Wave and Charge, a tool that includes excellent file, awl, and superior wire cutter, choose the Rebar. In any case, I have an "old Supertool", made when they still forged "USA" into the pliers, and for the life of me I can see no difference in quality. The blade had a pretty rough edge on it so I cleaned it up a bit and it is quite sharp. The biggest complaint that I have about the unit concerns the options for dividing the drawer space. This is useable, but I'd still like to be able to divide the drawer in the short dimension (across) such as you can with some of the Plano storage boxes. True, you can order additional dividers, but at $8 for 16 of the small ones and $11.41 for 6 of the larger ones, it inflates the cost of the unit beyond what I believe is it's value. Finally, the dividers that are supplied are molded into the back frame of the unit. Perhaps not, but it bothered me that I had to remove some bracing when the lateral stability of the unit was already marginal. The DYMO label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 2.75" in length which would allow 100 labels to be printed on a $14 roll. *** $0.14 per label. The Brother label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 4" in length which would allow 78 labels to be printed on the $11 roll. *** $0.14 per label. *** TIE ***. I printed two labels that had this text in 24pt BOLD "255.255.255.255". The DYMO label that was printed including wasted space on both sides was 3.375" (3 3/8") in length which would allow 81 labels on $14 roll. *** $0.17 per label.
