I then disassembled my old doorbell and installed the two existing wires to the back of the Ring 2 circuit board. Although the video stated that it did not matter which wire attached to either screw on the back of the circuit board, in my case it did. I then mounted the Ring 2 to my door frame with the 4 provided screws, and made sure everything was level. Once mounted, I adjusted the motion sensor zones and live view settings via the Ring app on my iPhone. I got the notification instantly, connected via the Ring app, and was able to talk and hear her perfectly."

I'd locked the door behind me, went downstairs to load the washer, and when I returned it was a red blinking light and I was out of luck. She offered to come back and drill the keyhole part but expressed concern that all she'd accomplish would be the destruction of the lock without the benefit of it actually unlocking. She gave me the number of "a safecracker" she knew (yeah, I don't know and I didn't ask.). We decided to start violently (since I was so so angry, now) by trying to beat the damned thing off with a ball-peen hammer. ANYWAY, he finally got in by removing the door trim and sawing through the bolt with a freakin' 6" grinder blade and even THAT took a spell. That being said: I sure did sleep better knowing how damned hard it would be to break into the house via the doors! But I sure do feel safer knowing what a complete and total pain it was to get through that lock."

Finally after 6 months, Deborah Acosta responds with absolutely incorrect resolution and sad attempt to assist me with my warranty claim."

Note that the way keyless locks such as this FE595 work, the mechanical part of the lock is ALWAYS locked by default. Entering the user code causes the electronic part of the lock to unlock the mechanical part for a few seconds, during which time the knob/lever can be moved to open the door. If the electronics should fail, or the battery runs down, the mechanical part of the lock remains locked, but you can still get in using the key. A special code can be entered to defeat ALL user codes, for when you plan to be gone for a while and don’t want the lock to admit anyone, regardless of which user code they might try to enter. - Insert the new latch/bolt assembly and strike plate to the door (or if your old lock was a Schlage, those parts are identical to the same parts on the new lock, so you could optionally re-use the old parts). Snap the 'baseplate' to the inside of the door (it has fingers that align with protrusions on the outer part of the lock, and a ratchet engages the 'hands-free' screw's threads, effectively holding the baseplate and outer lock to the door, so you don't have to struggle to keep those parts from falling off of the door while you work. - Place the inner part of the lock over the baseplate and use the included two long screws to attach the inner lock part to the outer lock part (just like with most door locks). So I was able to attach this to the door bottom even though it had been designed for the press-in steel piece with rubber weather strip. It was not difficult to pull through because of how the rubber strip was wrapped tightly around the metal pieces in the packaging so it was deformed on the edges a but, and did not have to cut it. I also got the rubber strip fed into the first piece a couple inches before screwing it on, as the instructions stated to do (otherwise it is difficult to feed in to get it started)."

Best Sliding Door Hardware
The bolts included for attaching the hangers to the door support a thickness range of 1 1/4" to 1 3/4", but this can be easily navigated by countersinking the bolt head into the back side of the door, or by picking up 4 longer bolts from your local hardware store. If your answer was negative, then that number is the extra spacing you need. For this reason, it's advised to install the lags for your rail either 1" from the bottom of the header, or to install your hangers higher on the door to compensate for the header. A: You will need a minimum of 6" from the top of your door to the ceiling (or crown moulding, if any) for this kit to fit correctly.
