Don't have a lot of split points so this is not a big deal for me. If I had to buy again I would go with the 500X and forgo the larger drills as they are to much strain on the small motor and wheel."

"I’ve been wanting to get one after reading the reviews on this sharpener, I first tried it by sharpening my small 3” pocket knife using the hone and ceramic rod, it sharpens quite well and it gave my pocket knife a good edge, I then sharpened my Ontario RAT 7 knife using the coarse and fine hones and it put a sharp edge on it as well, the angle guides does help with the proper angles while drawing the blade across the hones, I haven’t used the diamond embedded leather yet but I will eventually, I’d definitely recommend this sharpener."

"First, let me start out by saying that I really appreciate the fact that Work Sharp has actually put some thought into designing this tool--which is a level of effort sorely lacking from other manufacturers. Pros: * This sharpener has everything you need to completely reprofile a blade and bring it to a state of razor sharpness in the field. Due to the fact that the angle guides are relative to the blade spine thickness, primary bevel etc. Overall I think this is a good product and I plan on carrying it with me--if Work Sharp came out with an improved model, I think it would be worth buying twice... UPDATE: I've sharpened many more knives with this since first reviewing it. I've modified mine by peeling the instrutional/warning stickers off of the reverse side of the diamon plates and replacing them with strips of 1000 and 2500 grit silicon carbide sand paper. I'd love it if worksharp would incorporate double sided diamond plates into a future design--as this sandpaper will have to be replaced eventually."
