"This is an inexpensive learning tool for toddlers but my grandson LOVES it! The screen is a very basics black and grey but it works for him!"
"Didn't work - she loved her videos & games on the iPad much better! I was hoping the laptop would work as I don't like giving her iPad screen time, but for a long flight, you do whatever works!"
"Unlike ever other mock child's laptop I've encountered the activities are actually accessible to a preschooler, possibly even a toddler. There is no particular reason, why the user couldn't customize the entire email and not just the person it is from and to. It is a good, fun distracting toy for long trips, potty bribery and such."
"It has taken me a long time to write a review but I just noticed I never left one."
"When I bought this Leap Frog "My Own Leaptop" in June, 2017, I realized it was a newer version than the one I purchased in 2012, but I figured they would have simply made improvements upon the old model. To do this you must have the LeapFrog "My Own Leaptop" USB connector cable (see last photo), internet access, a USB port, and Adobe Flash software (an easy, free download that the LeapFrog software prompts you to download if you don't have it). I bought the used leaptop shown in the photos for $8 with free shipping and no cable. It arrived today and with new batteries and my old cable I was able to reprogram each of the customizable features and now it's perfect! - You can select one "sing along" song, and five melody songs for it to play, and it also plays a song spelling out your child's name. - When you push the "blog" button, it reads a blog entry and then asks your child [by name] about their day. - You can personalize three "email" messages by selecting text from a dropdown menu (you cannot type your own message) and entering the sender (e.g., "Grandma" or "Betsy"). - In the alphabet mode when your child pushes the first letter of their name it will switch between one of two results. Love, [Scout or Violet, depending on whether you have the boy or girl version] Let's reply. It doesn't read the reply you type (which makes sense since most children will push letters randomly). - In the alphabet mode when your child pushes the first letter of their name it will switch between one of two results. Both of our children really like singing and dancing to the music and playing at receiving and writing emails. The main reason our children, and in turn we ourselves, like the old version of this toy so much is because it engages them directly by name so frequently through the alphabet, music, email and blog modes. We brought our 2012 Leaptop every time we traveled with our son from about age 18 months to 3 years. His interest waned enough after that that we no longer brought it on travels, but it remains a much beloved toy for home use to this day. We are extremely confident that the used old version of the Leaptop we just bought our daughter is sure to be her new favorite toy."
"This version does NONE of that."
"I had read it wasn't as good as old version but I didn't know the old."

"This product is missing one thing...the ability to hold ALL of the content. As it is now, it holds all the compatible titles that we currently have. The other downside with this product is that when you want to download another title, you have to re-download it every time. I thought this product was dead when they brought out their last Christmas offerings, and it made me disappointed."
"I also left it charging all night with the computer, and somehow was completely dead an unresponsive in the morning, then plugged in again with the actual app open and it seems to charge a little bit but not fully, will see if it's because the app wasn't on the other computer so it would not charge or batteries faulted. Most disappointing is that it's been 3 years since it was released and I was excited to buy some books my child already knows, so he could use this reader on it, apparently none of dr Seuss books is supported, and in general not a great choice of books in my opinion."
"The pages and print are quality so that the wear and tear will be less and think if it is on kids hands.. it will withstand."
"We bought one for our daughter the as she got old enough; then the next year bought one for our son."
"My 3 year old loves these books."
"The new Tag LeapReader has a lot of great features that the older models do not, my favorite being the rechargeable lithium ion battery, as well as the writing capabilities and built-in stories, songs, etc."
"Since my son is not yet ready for the writing features of the new Reader anyway I just loaded everything onto the older Tag and put the Reader away for now."
"I have been building my Tag Reader library for years, and have spent hundreds of dollars."

"I don't know about the learning part, but I do know at the end of the evening, of all her gifts, she picked up my gift and started walking to the door (or I guess at her age it is more of a waddle)."
"When I saw the Leap Frog table on Amazon, I though this was the perfect replacement for his gym. When the songs come on, he'll start dancing, by shifting his weight from one foot to the other so he sorta wobbles left and right while he holds on to the table. A couple of months ago, we actually bought one as a birthday gift to one of my friends son(first birthday), and she just called the other day telling us how her baby really loves his table."
"The first one would have survived but I put it out on the patio and it got wet and passed on to the baby toy everafter. They could move the book part and the trumpet thing and whenever they touch a piece of it lights up and counts, or sings, or speaks to you in spanish. She is an average size baby and the table supports her weight."
"It does get annoying sometimes when she pushes the same button over and over and the woman's voice says "RED! No more sliding table."
"She misses and says wrong letters on her ABCs, her "red" sounds like "wed", her "blue" sounds like "loo". My daughter loved flipping the book the most, but mostly she banged on all the buttons at once, so that you get a barrage of "red...square...triangle....abcdef.....yodalayyodalay....dingding.....green.....circle....lalalala.....red...red...red", i mean who wouldn't go crazy after 10 minutes of that, INCLUDING your child."

Reviews
"There is an incredible amount of functions and activities for this tablet. I am trying to include a video of the amazing functions included in this tablet."
"For example, when you hit the "A" button, the animation says "A, Apple", and spells out the word APPLE on the screen and shows a bear eating an apple. He can recognize and read the word apple now, along with other words, and I'm pretty sure a lot of the credit goes to this toy. He also likes to play the "planting fun" game where it counts out each number you press."
"My daughter loves this toy!"
"The two AA batteries included are for sampling only."
"I bought this for my two-year-old granddaughter, hoping for something to distract her from trying to swipe her big brother's games."
"It's a great product, but it's just a little too old for an 18 month old."
"I really LOVE V tech I think this is a great tablet this is something that can grow with the child for many years."
"I got this for my daughter for Christmas and it broke in one day."

Reviews
"Pushing them will trigger lights and different songs on each page. When you turn the page, it makes a chiming noise then goes into either a song or a nursery rhyme that coordinates with what is on each page. Pushing the music note with a page open will trigger the corresponding song to play."
"I thought it would catch my 1 year old eye but she not really interested in the book."
"She is almost 16 months old and has been absorbing a lot of knowledge so this has been very educational."
"This is not my daughter's favor, it is because the speaker sound is too low and the graphic is not vivid."
"The songs are not the traditional nursery versions, and the voices used for songs and animal sounds don’t sound great."
"I got this for my(then 13 month old) Niece for Christmas and she absolutely loves it!"
"He likes it, but doesn't really keep his attention long, but It could be him, as he has a hard time staying focused."
"The "VTech Musical Rhymes Book" is my 4 month old's absolute favorite toy, so I figured I would get another version to give mom and dad a break from the same 6 nursery rhymes that we play over and over."
