So about the leak: - filled with water and shaking it really hard you can get it to leak a little, which is no good. - there is no gasket AND the screw itself is not long enough (trust me i'm an engineer - well okay don't, albeit I did learn this at school, like, 20 years ago). - put a rubber band around the screw top of the bottle (see pic) and screw on, boom, waterproof, you can shake that as strong as you'd like. With that in mind and given the price, it's a pretty decent deal."

"Doesn't really run out (maybe with ridiculous amount of usage), doesn't matter if it's wet, dirty, hot or cold. It is also sharpened on the ergonomically correct side so produce a pretty nice amount of sparks that quickly light up fire starting materials. The fire steel will eventually wear out [be used up] so expect to replace it with heavy frequent use. Butane lighters won't work at all at high altitude.
