"not much, just a little. So about the leak: - filled with water and shaking it really hard you can get it to leak a little, which is no good. - there is no gasket AND the screw itself is not long enough (trust me i'm an engineer - well okay don't, albeit I did learn this at school, like, 20 years ago). - put a rubber band around the screw top of the bottle (see pic) and screw on, boom, waterproof, you can shake that as strong as you'd like. With that in mind and given the price, it's a pretty decent deal."
"able to hike without any leakage of the container.. weighs less than an aluminum container."
"The ounce markings on the bottle are really helpful."
"Holds the alcohol alright, but it leaks when squeezing the bottle."
"I put them in the recycling and ordered the Trangia fuel bottle instead."
"This bottle leaked."
"The bottle leaks when placed tipped to its side."
"The flip top does not securely seal and it will leak."

"Trangia Fuel Bottle safety cap makes it really easy to use a fuel bottle."
"I can't say if it seals as well as a traditional MSR type bottle, but I haven't found any evidence of any leaking. Bottom line: if you're trying to decide between this Trangia and a MSR type bottle and don't need to pressurize it, give this a try."
"The challenge is to find a bottle which is not subject to corrosion/pitting or degradation by alcohol fuel."
"Proper bottle to fill in the ever evaporated spirited alcohol."
"the shaft on the top "pore button" does not have an "O" ring so if you tip it way over and just push the button halfway, you will get fuel leaking around that shaft. unscrew the red "pore lock", push the button all the way down and THEN tip until it pores and you'll have none of this type of leaks."
"This bottle is very durable and an excellent fuel container."
"If you're already looking at this product, don't think on it any more other than which capacity version you want."
"I have ordered 2 of these in the last couple of months to use carrying my gas/oil mix onto mountain bike trails as I work on them (chainsaw and line trimmer)."

"As required, it contains the fuel without allowing it to leak out.-- but that's what one would expect as a bare minimum. Loosing up the screw frees up the nozzles, either of which serves to accurately pour the fuel while the other admits air to prevent gurgling."
"Before finding this Trangia bottle, my solution was 5 hour energy bottles with the labels pulled off, they are solid white with a red cap, and hold just shy of 2 oz of fuel."
"Extended power outages, sheltering in place in case of the Big EarthQuake or a mountain blowing up (I live in Oregon), the occasional blizzard, etc. I'll be getting a couple more so I can store some back up fuel for truly hideous situations, and because I am ADHD and forget to refill things."
"This is a really elegant solution to carry spare fuel, the valve offers a controlled pour and has a very nice lock mechanism."
"The Trangia .5L fuel bottle is well made and the special pouring spout is a great safety feature."
"The times I carried the soda bottles, I always worried about them get punctured or damaged in some way."
"I find using several 0.5 liter bottles to be much more effective than trying to use either the larger 1.0 liter or or smaller 0.3 liter bottles ... and they pack perfectly when traveling."
"Have left it in my pack in a car through a hot Florida summer, no fuel loss at all, no rupture."

Reviews
"I know it says 12,000 strikes, but I tend to push a little harder in trade for more sparks, so mine will not be reaching 12,000 (personal choice, not problem with the product)."
"You want to have dry cotton for the sparks to catch in. Also, a small piece of foil underneath will make this good tinder great as it will make it burn even longer."
"Others I bought work on the same principles but the way the two components were attached were not as easy to strike. The bullet fire starter also worked great but had to seperate and then reattach to not lose one component. Why make me do such nonsense?Überleben Kräftig 1/2" XL Ferro Rod / Fire Starter for Bushcraft Survival."
"Doesn't really run out (maybe with ridiculous amount of usage), doesn't matter if it's wet, dirty, hot or cold. It is also sharpened on the ergonomically correct side so produce a pretty nice amount of sparks that quickly light up fire starting materials. Although you can use a knife or other sharp tool to make sparks why do so when then there's a perfectly good designated scraper. I recommend you guys start scrapping from the bottom 1 inch or so, so that once you wear off that part you just go up rather than having wasted the entire tool if you used it whole length."
"Break off a three inch section of rat tail file and scrape it along the firesteel for a MUCH more effective spark! The fire steel will eventually wear out [be used up] so expect to replace it with heavy frequent use. Butane lighters won't work at all at high altitude. Do bear in mind that you MUST have "tender" that will catch fire easily from from a shower of sparks onto a pile of magnesium shavings. Bits of pure cotton saturated with a petroleum product [Vasaline] This tender MUST burn long enough and hot enough to make bigger flammable materials burn. If you spend time in a remote area or hike forest trails etc."
"When out with the scouts, while they are fiddling with the junk gas lighters that aren't worth a dime, I whip out my firesteel and BOOM!, the camp fire is lit, BOOM!"
"Typical fire stick only orange."
