"The new full size model with a 7" blade is larger than the 1209 and has the classic stacked leather handle and pinned butt cap. Treated the sheath with Neatsfoot oil and it got darker and more pliant, but still very sturdy with stitching and rivets."
"Anyone who knows anything about knives should be able to sharpen their own knives like they want, not complain about having to take it to a specialist. Stainless is very hard to achieve a good edge on without the proper honing instruments, such as ceramic. I live in New Mexico and have plenty of expierience in the matter. The oils in the leather will make it waterproof and keep most moisture out, plus, everytime you sheath it, you will put a fine coat of oil on the blade."
"That said, saturate the sheath in Neetsfoot oil, and coat the entire knife in Neetsfoot oil as well. Now whenever you sheath you blade, the excess oil inside the sheath will coat the blade and protect against rust. I recommend saturating the sheath in Neetsfoot oil every 3 months, and oiling the grip and blade once every month. One last thing: This blade is razor sharp, so like any blade, use caution and keep it away from children who haven't been taught proper knife care and safety protocols. Speaking of which, only about 7.5 months have passed (purchased 4/16/2015), but I've oiled the leather grip and sheath with traditional Neetsfoot oil at least once a week."
"Mine was black carbon. • The handle is lacquered-leather shouldn't be lacquered-it's too slippery. • There is a USMC stamp on one side – no stamp on the other side, no Orlean NY. • The sheath only has the USMC emblem and USMC on it – and is not Mexican quality. Definitely not the Ka-Bar I carried in Nam ,,, not even close."
"Poor quality, the engraving was half missing on the USMC side and completely missing on the made in NY side."

"The knife is probably the best $ for product knife I've ever owned - I've had Leatherman, Gerber, Kershaw, and Benchmade open assist knives knives with several other fixed blade knives and these are my go-to knives."
"Nice knife."
"I have never owned a pocket knife in my life, but after binging LNM on Reddit for awhile, I thought it time I took my safety seriously."
"Note that the blade locks in the open position and you need to press an interior bar to close the knife. The clip is pretty useless, IMO, since it leaves part of the handle protruding from your pocket."
"It was super dangerous because if you used the knife straight on like you could have to in a emergency situation, it would simply just collapse on your hand. We took apart the knife and used a sandpaper tool to save down the inner part that was too thick and stopping the locking mechanism. It took two of us, a half hour, a mini screwdriver set, and a lot of precision to get it all together in the end."
"The finish is beautiful (I use this knife for unboxing stuff on camera so I needed a nice finish) and shines in the light!"
"The only drawback I found was that the can opener can only fully function when the blade is extended which can be very dangerous but nothing that a little common sense can't solve. You can't go wrong with this Tac Force."
"The design is flawless and it feels superb compared to a lot of other knifes I've owned."

Gerber StrongArm Fixed Blade Knife, Fine Edge, Coyote [30-001058]
Featuring a fine edge, full tang 420HC blade with black ceramic coating, the Strong-arm was designed around the fundamentals of military survival training. The striking pommel positioned at the base of the handle functions to break through hard surfaces for effective rescue operations, and ceramic coating on the blade offers subtle use through low visual profile, as well as preventing corrosion for long life of the blade. A striking pommel at the base of the handle breaks through hard surfaces, effective in rescue operations and everyday situations alike.

"I normally don't expect very much from Gerber ever since they came out with all the lousy Bear Grylls knives that virtually break if you breath on them too hard! But after watching all of the very positive YouTube reviews on this knife, I decided I would add it to my wish list and see what all the hype was about. The pommel of the knife sports a nice glass-breaker/attitude adjuster, that can be used for a multitude of tasks and is a handy feature to have. The black ceramic blade coating is not overly rough like the Becker and ESEE knives, which is a plus in my book! The blade looks as though it's about 3/16" thick, but Gerber did a very nice job with the saber grind and as a result, this knife cuts like a beast! Despite what some people have said in their YouTube reviews, this knife is PERFECTLY capable of making some beautiful feather sticks (as you can see by my pictures!). The spine of the blade also comes ground to a very nice 90 degree angle suitable for striking a ferro rod! It's about time Gerber finally produce an outdoor fixed blade knife without serrations! I don't see this sheath having any issues whatsoever, but in the event that you ever do, Gerber has a sterling reputation as far as their customer service and warranty goes, so I don't think you'll have any worries!"
"I read about this at the beginning of 2015, I am not and have never been a Gerber Fan(boy), but after reading all the reviews, viewing every video on YouTube... especially the several "Gauntlet Reviews", I bought one on Amazon for $39.15 total. Interesting multi functional (3 or more) sheath design, though many find the snaps can pose some issues. (There are after market sheaths out there: Kydex or Carbon Fiber). Light weight: 7.2 oz (204 g) - Overall Weight: 10.9 oz (309 g). For a knife that is "Made In The U.S.A." it's excellent for what you get at this price point. It can pry, dig, slice, slash, stab, the spine throws sparks effortlessly."
"It's a good, solid, full tang medium size knife. This is similar to the Prodigy in its size, weight and shape, but it is, of course, available in fine edge. Now I can one-hand it, which I like a lot better (however, in the traditional carry position -- hanging from your belt -- this sheath is quite flexible and will require some modification or leg straps if you prefer a stiffer feel)."

"I've always wanted a Ka-Bar, and when I found one here for quite a bit less then in stores or other online places I quickly put in my order. No decent knife should come with a razor sharp edge on it, because you are supposed to sharpen it to your preferences."
"I added size 15 O-rings to the handle in between the grooves as mentioned in a previous post and made a big difference in the grip."
"To read a complete review go to [...]. Just received my new KA-BAR USMC Fighting Knife in the mail a day early might I add. Once I opened the box my jaw hit the floor and my eyes started tearing up. Knife came razor sharp out of the box with a fine point tip(I dropped the knife and the point grazed my shin and the point poked my shin right thru my jeans and sliced my shin and blood streamed down, I couldn't believe how sharp it was). Even though I live in the Greater NW and the Kraton handle would probably have been more practicable for wet weather climates, I just had to stick with the Original handle. I will also be purchasing the Ka-Bar Short USMC Fighting Knife with the Tanto Tip. I can't wait to pass this knife down to my Son when he comes of age and then see him pass it to my Grandson when he comes of age."
