Q2K (Expanded & Remastered) [Explicit]
Reviews
"Queensryche serves up a seriously good CD of modern rock music full of emotion and groove. If you’re able to unshackle your heart and mind of their expectations (an admittedly hard thing to do for fans, and perfectly understandable when they can’t) of what Q2K should be then you can sit back and enjoy some mighty fine modern rock. He doesn’t wail his guts out, true, but he sings with varied warmth and heat and even nuance amidst mostly driving songs. But the benefit of this is that it allows the guitars to be more emotionally expressive and punctuate lines and moments rather than shred, scream, or blister and squeal. Emotionally packed music with thick guitar parts driving in tandem with the bass kick of the drums. 6) Beside You—Moving back to featuring more melody and a slower tempo and having Tate draw out his vocals the chorus builds and then satisfies when it flattens out. 7) Liquid Sky—With some slick production to blend moments together this song can get old pretty quickly if set on repeat but standing in the midst of this set it offers a bit of a different sound, the most engaging bits being Tate’s almost spoken transitions to singing style. A little hard to get into but a good track with a mean groove on the chorus and some of the album’s best guitar work. Strong rock track that loses its sensual edge live."
"Enough good music on this cd to make it enjoyable and worth paying for. UPDATE: Just bought the remastered version with two new tracks and a couple of live tracks."
"That being said, Tate and the band did a fantastic job on this release."
"Amazon is like a Xmas Wonderland!! Great music store!!"
"I don't know if it is the addition of Kelly Gray as much as it is the departure of Chris DeGarmo whose writing seemed to stray from classical Queensryche the last two albums."
"What happened to the complexities of the EP, Warning, Rage and Mindcrime?"
"Maybe the tour with Maiden and Halford will give them a shot in the arm."

The Utterly Fantastic and Totally Unbelievable Sound of Los Straitjackets

"I found this to be a great album! I bought it as my second Los Straitjacket purchase, following up my initial purchase of Damas Y Caballeros Los Straitjackets (See my previous review.)."
"Totally AWESOME."
"Thanks for getting this to me so quickly."
"I know they'd be a gas to see with their Mexican wrestling masks, and speed surf guitar work!!"
"this is a great album, I love Los Straightjackets."
"The best surf rock outfit since Dick Dale and one of my all time favorites."

Tube City! - The Best Of The Trashmen
Reviews
"it was the crazy cackle that started Wipe Out extended into the entire song, a drug trip before anyone knew about drug trips, a song whose sheer lunacy would never really be topped on the Top 40 charts, not by Sam the Sham, Napoleon XIV or Wang Chung. They had the Southern California sound down really well considering they were from Minneapolis and must have learned from listening to records rather than being part of a vibrant live scene the way most surf bands were. It's true that drummer/vocalist Steve Wahrer cobbled Surfin' Bird together from two songs by the L.A. doo-wop group, The Rivingtons and a lawsuit followed to add their names to the credits (and royalty checks). The Rivingtons two songs were not national hits (charting at # 44 and #50) and I'm sure they were happy making far more money off of The Trashmen's Surfin' Bird."
"So I HAD to go see them when someone put together a GREAT CARD at a local bar here in MN (The Turf Club) with one of Eddy Angels bands and the headline was the Trashmen! Seeing them live MADE me buy this CD, thinking of days when my parents (I'm 39) would cruise up and down University Ave and hit Porky's Drive in in St Paul with these tunes on the AM radio! I even met the wife's of the band members as THEY WERE THE ONES selling CD's and POSTERS!"
"Steve Wahrer combined the Rivingtons' songs "The Bird's The Word" and "Papa Oom Mow Mow," added some strange vocal sounds, and created the classic song "Surfin' Bird.""
"Love it."
"I've listened to this a bunch of times."
"Some of the best surfin music I have heard."

"Unfortunately Hashem's "real" name is said repeatedly in a few songs (I am confused as to why some songs omit the name)."

Drawing Black Lines
Reviews
"Excellent album."
"I am not putting down 'Truthless Heroes' in anything I say, it is still a very, very hard album, but this one is so sensational I'd think anyone would have a hard time living up to it)."
"I posted a former review, titled "DBL Underestimated. It makes a great listen, just not normally past the first seven tracks, and even then you have to skip a few to retain the 'hard rock' sound that you may crave. It makes no sense to listen to them after just hearing the incredibly, heavy metal/rock sound they've just performed. I'd give this album a good review any day."
"A great CD to get for Team Black fans, fans who just found P86 and are curious about their older hits, and fans of harder rock and/or metal."
"Their first big endeavour into the hard rock Christian scene, and it's okay."
"Absolute perfection & Triple G Garth brought the best out of this band."
"The end result is a truly origional identity, encompassing the inspiration of thier predecessors while possessing a familair, yet refreshing combination of hardcore, punk, metal and nu-school agresssion. Produced by underground-turned-mainstream mainstay GGGarth, the Project's sound has all the ellements a nu-skool kid yerns but can never find in the uninspired legions of medocre pop-metal and further defines the neveau-hardcore vibe that the Project have strived for over the past three years of touring."

"One of his best works during a turning point in his career."
"Classic "Shack" music."
"Me and 7 of my friends all bought this the day it came out and one of my friends came here to buy one for his cousin and saw these 2 star reviews so we decided to write a group review cuz it's way better than that. Maybe because we're strange too.Dead Sleep - maybe the best song on the cd after living with ghosts. Says it's really the first song to ever describe that spent feeling you get when someone drains the life out of you. Great song to get you feeling strong during the tough times.Paper Dolls - Also could be a single. Mostly we hope everyone reading this will buy it so JCS can get out here on a tour but we can't see how anyone couldn't like most of ths cd."
"Favorite songs are the soaring Living With Ghosts, the ROCKIN Dead Sleep and Strange and then there's Ghettoverit which is so funny (if you get the joke) that it reminds me of something Adam Sandler would do if he were a real musician. Also really cool is hearing how the boys work with songs co-written by the likes of Aaron Lewis from Staind (big surprise for me there, I liked it) and the guy from Marcy PLayground (Paper Dolls is another GREAT song on this disc).I can't see how anyone could be disappointed by this CD. My older brother just ordered a copy to take to school with him after he was listening to mine and he is a super music snob so if he likes it you'll like it too. These days I feel lucky if a cd has 2 good songs on it."
"BYOS is a solid listen straight through w/o a bad song and alot more mellow than their other ones (reminds me of stuff by Pepper, Slightly Stupid, Stranger etc even though its unique). PTSE is more rock w/ some funk bass and stuff, good cd but their sound is less developed."
"Where I found every song to be great on their first two albums, "re.present" disappoints with more "filler" songs (Quitter, Beautiful, Unshaken)."
"I got so excited when they released a new album, because all the songs on their other ones are so powerful that you just can't stop listening to them."

Hit Man David Foster & Friends (Amazon Excl.)
Reviews
"Recorded live in performance at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center. Bought one and decided to get more for friends and family (whom I am familiar with their musical tastes) as a holiday gift. Andre Bocelli, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Peter Cetera, Boz Scaggs, Celine Dion, Brian McKnight, Eric Benet, Kenny G, Babyface, Blake Shelton, Cheryl Lynn, Katherine McPhee with cameos by Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, John Travolta and Kevin Costner. I thought that I am already too old to get goosebumps; but her performance on this event was absolutely jaw dropping. For the finale, Josh Groban took David's seat on the piano for his rendition of "You Raised me Up" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with Brian McKnight."
"AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE BOCELLI SUCCESS!"
"David Foster was constantly praising everyone and you could feel/sense the respect people had for each other."
"Quintessential David Foster...easy to see why he's called The Msic Man!"
"Love this album and David Foster."
"One of my favorites is Katharine McPhee and Andrea Bocelli, even though he is old enough to be her father, they sing and interact with one another like two star struck lovers. I was introduced to BlakeShelton, generally I am not a country fan but has a great voice and obviosly is indebted to David's magic."
"My mother, sister and I all own this DVD/CD set."

"The growth of the band shows on As Daylight Dies."
"Decent album from a band I was not too familiar with."
"KILLSWITCH!"
"Great dynamics in the songs and throughout the album itsself."
"They write great songs and Howard Jones is one of my favorite metal singers (second only to Cliff Rigano of Dry Kill Logic), his ability to belt out the screams and then sing with great depth are an underappreciated skill in metal today. I enjoy metal albums that have meaningful and thoughtful lyrics that can be screamed or sung equally well."
"I was actually really surprised how good this record is."

Reviews
"This is a really great album."
"One of my all-time favorite David Gilmour performances!"
"Here is why: **** AMAZING PRODUCTION QUALITY, ON BOTH THE CDs AND THE DVDs. **** THE FINAL OFFICIAL RELEASE WHERE YOU ALSO GET TO SEE / HEAR PINK FLOYD KEYBOARDIST RICHARD WRIGHT. **** COMPLETE AND AMAZING 5.1 VERSION OF "ON AN ISLAND" ALBUM. **** GILMOUR, STILL AT THE VERY TOP OF HIS GAME, DEMONSTRATING NEW TALENTS, SUCH AS PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE!! P.S., somewhere out there is a nice DVD recording of a Roger Waters concert from Cork, Ireland (2006), which features Nick Mason."
"Awesome."
"Gilmour ended his On An Island Tour with this show which features the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zbigniew Preisner. The disc also features a making of featurette called Gdansk Diary which also covers some background on the Solidarity movement in Poland. These performances include highlights from the Island tour recorded at the Mermaid Theatre in London, The AOL Sessions in New York and Live at Abbey Road."
"I absolutely love it."
"After listening to the CD's while driving, I began to appreciate the music more and more and notice the different touches on these new recordings more and more. I also enjoyed the DVD's especially since it was Richard's last concert filmed with David, and I treasure it, also, but it is the cd's that I have enjoyed so much!"
"One CD in the second set is also scratched and both appear to be used."

What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits
Reviews
"Repackaged in a miniature replica of the original album artwork (right down to a mini-replica of the poster that came with the first edition and the insert that held the original vinyl album advertising the WB compilations), this is a nice package for those of us who grew up on the vinyl. First up I don't know if this was remastered or someone just futzed with the EQ a bit but this new edition of "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" sounds extremely good."
"The sound quality of this disc is excellent, better than my first issue LP, and I'm an analog guy!"
"Each time I put this on the turntable, I'm brought back to such a great time in rock music."
"Popular when I was in high school but has held up well through the years."
"Bottom line: this remaster is outstanding and worth the additional cost if you want a difinitive copy of this album."
"This is a "SACD" audio cd hybrid which will also play on a regular cd player."
"Brings back the good old days."
